The ‘Trin Makes’ Trapezoid Makeup + Toiletry Bag pattern (BETA Version) is a thoughtfully designed digital sewing pattern, suitable for confident beginners.
The step-by-step instructions hold your hand and walk you through the entire process - so yes, you CAN make this!
The Trapezoid Bag is equal parts function + beauty, with it’s softly structure quilted outer and perfectly placed internal pocket(s).
The unique shape provides a great base to explore your creativity - try colour-blocking, piping, fun quilting designs, a contrasting zipper or interesting patchwork designs!
Please see the images to check approximate measurements for each size. Given the handmade nature of your finished bag, these are a guide only. The pattern has been created to work perfectly with the two zipper sizes.
Please note: This is BETA Version of this pattern - it contains detailed written instructions, but not all steps have images, these will be included by end of November 2025. What you need:
FABRIC:
The MEDIUM size uses:
0.5m x main fabric
0.5m x lining fabric
0.5m light to mid-weight interfacing
0.5m wadding of your choice
1 x 30cm closed end zipper
The LARGE size uses:
0.5m x main fabric
0.5m x lining fabric
0.6m light to mid-weight interfacing
0.5m wadding of your choice
1 x 35cm closed end zipper
TOOLS:
- Sewing machine, preferably a
- Walking foot (plus a quilting guide if you have one!) & a
- Zipper foot
- Rotary cutter or sharp fabric scissors
- Cutting mat
- Matching (or contrast!) thread
- Pins or clips
- Iron & ironing board
- Erasable marker
TIME:
Allow a few hours for the first one, but once you have the steps clear in your mind, each one you make will become quicker to complete!
WHAT YOU GET:
A digital sewing pattern for 2 versions (simple + colour-blocked) and 2 sizes (Large & Medium) of the quilted toiletry bag that you can print out using a home printing on A4 or US letter size paper.
